Do you or your students have questions about copyright issues? Are you unable to afford a copyright attorney? Is your understanding of copyright issues as clear as an Oklahoma creek on a rainy day? If you answered, “yes” to any of these questions, we have a wonderful resource to share with you. Paul Roberts, our new library dean, has developed a Libguide that is hosted on the OBU library web site. It is the most thorough copyright resource for academics that I have ever seen. (And, yes, I did ask permission to refer to it in this blog!) It covers complex and misunderstood topics with detailed guidelines including how to determine Fair Use, multimedia issues (including YouTube), course management system factors, seeking permission from copyright owners, and public domain resources.
